The Galactic Centre Degree Ephemeris (4221 BC to 4302 AD)
by Robin Armstrong
This ephemeris traces the movement of the Galactic Centre through the tropical zodiac over more than 6,500 years, offering a unique long-cycle perspective on history, consciousness, and astrological time.
While the Earth orbits the Sun in one year, the Sun itself orbits the centre of the galaxy over approximately 225 million years. Because of the precession of the equinoxes, the Galactic Centre slowly advances through the degrees of the zodiac at a rate of roughly one degree every 72 years. This work documents that movement in precise detail.
The tables show:
-
The exact zodiac degree and minute of the Galactic Centre
-
Corresponding historical dates from 4221 BC to 4302 AD
-
Associated I Ching hexagrams and changing lines for each degree
This allows astrologers and researchers to explore how long-term galactic cycles may resonate with historical epochs, collective themes, and sensitive degrees in individual horoscopes.
The text also includes a philosophical and symbolic exploration of the Galactic Centre as a higher organizing principle — a “Sun of Suns” — and its relationship to meaning, evolution, and consciousness. Particular attention is given to its current and forthcoming passage through the late degrees of Sagittarius and into Capricorn.
This ephemeris is intended for:
